Members of the so called Orange Order have marched through Edinburgh in a pro-Union rally looking to attract thousands. Their ranks were swelled by bandsmen from Northern Ireland.

The self proclaimed celebration of ‘Britishness’ comes just five days before polls open on Scotland’s referendum debate. But todays march hasn’t received any official support from the no campaign.

With public opinion on the vote almost neck and neck, the No camp may be weary of lending their backing to such a cause. The group has historical ties to Ulster Protestantism and the religious divisions in Northern Ireland.
