Combo Xingu was a band Chilean founded in 1971 in the city of Santiago , formed by students and graduates of the National Conservatory of Music , as well as former members of the band Beat Combo. It was directed by the conductor Sergio Arellano and had a short life, dissolving in 1973 but left two official albums like legacy, plus some work in company with other famous artists, including the theme "For Chile" on the single " Ramona " shared with the renowned band Quilapayún . This band is one of the first Chilean groups to venture into the funk.
Despite being identified with the Nueva Canción Chilena and Latin American fusion , the band was characterized by interpreting versions of rock musicians of English speech.
Xingú was released in 1971 by the label DICAP and directed by the conductor Sergio Arellano.
