On Tuesday, a 5-year-old little girl in Pasadena, Texas was airlifted to the hospital after she became trapped in a washing machine. The troubling incident occurred inside a local laundromat at approximately 6:15 in the evening.

Reportedly, the girl was stuck in the machine while it ran on high for several minutes. When she was noticed and staffers were alerted, the circuit breakers were shut off to cut power to the appliance.

According to police, a female customer had attempted to use the machine only moments before the incident. The woman told management it wasn’t working properly and received money to use a different one.

It’s unclear how the little girl got inside the thought-to-be-broken machine, but thus far foul play is not suspected. When the door was closed, it started working with the child inside.

She was flown to the hospital as a precaution. Her injuries are classified as non-life threatening. Cops have not revealed who was watching the girl in the laundromat.

However police official Vance Mitchell did say – “You've got to watch your kids. That's the bottom line. If that was my son or granddaughter, I'd be really upset that I let it happen.”
