The desire to visit faraway shores (or even those in your own backyard) is so deeply woven into our collective summer psyche that it’s practically instinctual. There’s just something about feeling sand between your toes, a cold drink in your hand and a warm, salty breeze on your face that simply can’t be replicated at a lake house or pool.
