FBI launches investigation into shooting death of unarmed black teen

For the second day running, protesters take to the streets, demanding justice for Michael Brown.

The unarmed black teen was shot and killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri over the weekend.

Tensions were running high outside the St. Louis Police Department as hundreds of demonstrators confronted police in riot gear.

This after a violent night when looters ransacked dozens of stores and vandalized businesses.

Smoke rose from a burned out convenience store destroyed by angry rioters.

SOUNDBITE: ST. LOUIS POLICE CHIEF JON BELMAR, SAYING:

"There were thousands of calls last night everything ranging from shots fired to burglaries to destruction of properties to assault. It is a miracle however that nobody actually got shot last night."

Police announced the FBI will launch a parallel investigation looking for any civil rights violations in the case.
