This video will show you the contaminants in tap water and the difference between tap and filtered water.
You may notice the rods in the water. Contaminants in water make the water conductive to electric current. Positive ions go to negative. Negative ions go to positive ions such as calcium and sulfate. They react with the rods and precipitate.
