T.I. Says He Doesn't Know Who Azealia Banks Is, Explains Iggy Azalea's Success
  • 10 years ago
T.I. and Azealia Banks may have gotten into a heated social media clash earlier this week, but ask T.I. about the Harlem's part-time rapper, part-time Internet troll and he'll give you the confused face. "Who the hell is that?" Tip responded when asked about the on-and-off beef last night at the Think Like A Man Too premiere at Manhattan's SVA theater. "I know Iggy Azalea—she's phenomenal." Yup, Tip seems to be over the silly squabble with the "212" rapper, but he's especially proud of Iggy for claiming the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 with an appearance on Ariana Grande's "Problem" and her own "Fancy" with Charli XCX. "Her superstardom—I saw it years ago and y'all are just now catching up to my opinion, so congratulations to that," T.I. says of his Australian protégé. "She has an incredible vision of what she wants her artistry to be." As for T.I., he's hoping Iggy's hit-making pixie dust translates on his new single "No Mediocre," which features her blonde bars. His Paperwork album is slated for release this fall. —John Kennedy with additional reporting by Milan Carter
