Mr. Palmisano highlights the benefits of the internet--from access to talent and human capital to consumer efficiency--but stresses the need to curb criminal behavior online. He notes that there has to be a balanced, multi-stakeholder approach to protecting both privacy and intellectual property in the digital age.
