China: Knife attack wounds six in Guangzhou

At least six people have been wounded in a knife attack at a railway station in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou.

A shop owner who saw the violence said the suspects were squatting on the ground next to his business for two hours. They suddenly let out a shout and began attacking people with knives.

The police arrived quickly and reportedly shot one of the attackers. Another is on the run.

It is the latest in a series of such assaults that have raised jitters around the country.

Twenty-nine people were stabbed to death in March in the southwest of the country.
