FEMA Trailers

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) issued temporary housing in the form of free-standing trailers, often simply called FEMA trailers. Designed to provide shelter to victims of natural disasters, the trailers often took months to receive from the government, and even more time to get hooked up to the propane tanks that powered the hot water, indoor heating, and gas stove.
