On this episode, Jackie takes a look at what's on your plate when you eat out! She'll look at how the healthy food movement is affecting restaurant food and how you can eat out and still maintain a healthy lifestyle. She'll also take a look at new trends in the restaurant industry and what you can expect to see when you eat away from home.

This week's guests are The Dining Duo – Michael Epstein and Scott Schwimer – a couple that have eaten 21 meals TOGETHER every week for 22 years. They blog about the foodie scene in LA and abroad on their website www.TheDiningDuo.com and no couple knows more about restauarant food than these two! They'll talk about how they're passion for art and cars intersects with their interest in food, top trends in restaurants and how they eat out every meal and still keep a healthy lifestyle.

Make a restaurant quality meal at home this week with Jackie's recipe for Chicken Salad with Spiced Sesame Sauce. This isn't your average chicken salad – this zesty dish is low in sodium, fat and calories and so quick and easy to make its sure to become a dinner-time favorite for anyone who tries it!

Chicken Salad with Spiced Sesame Sauce

Servings: 6 Serving Size: 4 oz. chicken plus 1/2 cup salad

Ingredients:

3(4 oz.) boneless, skinless chicken breasts

¼ tsp.cayenne pepper

1 ½ tsp. distilled white vinegar

1tbsp.dry sherry

1tbsp.fresh cilantro, chopped

1sliceginger

1ea.green onion, diced

3 cupsromaine lettuce leaves

2tbsp.reduced sodium soy sauce

½ tsp.sesame oil

2tbsp.sesame tahini

2cupswater, plus 1 tbsp.

1wholegreen onion

Directions:

1. In a 2 quart pan, combine the chicken, whole green onion, ginger, sherry, sugar (to taste, about 1 tsp), and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, cover, and simmer until the meat in thickest portion is no longer pink when cut (about 20 minutes). Remove the chicken from the broth and let stand just until cool enough to touch. Shred the chicken and set aside.

2. Combine the sesame tahini, soy sauce, and distilled white vinegar in a small bowl. Blend in the sesame oil, cayenne pepper, chopped green onion, and the cilantro. Whisk until thoroughly blended. Mix in the water.

3. To serve, mound the lettuce on a platter or individual plates. Arrange the chicken over the lettuce. Drizzle with the sesame sauce.

Meet Michael & Scott (Guest):

Michael H. Epstein & Scott E. Schwimer have taken on the food & Hotel scene around the globe. Michael Epstein became the youngest Jaguar dealer in the country at nineteen, following his passion for automobiles; and today, he remains an avid car collector.

Michael founded System 800 International in 1986, which went on to become the largest reseller of 800-phone line service in the United States, and pioneered touch-tone technology for credit card processing. After going public in 1988, the company merged with Independent Entertainment Group, and produced pay per view events for cable.

A native Angelino, Scott E. Schwimer was appropriately born in the year of the Monkey. He received his BA from Stanford University, and his JD from Loyola Law School. He worked on Capitol Hill before jumping into his career as an Entertainment Attorney for both Television and Motion Pictures. Scott’s passions also include being an artist, photographer, painter, sculptor, writer, producer and world-traveler; and of course, he is passionate about eating and dining.

Michael and Scott have been collecting photography for over twenty-two years. They have one of the largest glamour photography archives in the world, and are the publisher’s of George Hurrell’s work, as well as Mel Roberts’, Harry Langdon’s and Ian Wright’s photos.
