Whether you’re on your way to a nightclub or a class reunion, if you want to attract the ladies, scientists say the key could be in your dance moves.

Hint: the sprinkler dance won’t get you very far.

A team of evolutionary biologists has determined that the key is in how you move your right knee, torso, and neck.

They’re scientists, so discovering this involved a lot of advanced technology.

First, they gathered a group of regular guys, outfitted them with mirrored sensors, and asked them to get their groove on.

While they were dancing, they were filmed by 12 cameras.

To save time defending the relative attractiveness of their subjects, those moves were applied to featureless computer generated models.

35 women were then invited to watch and rate.

The larger and more varied the moves of the upper torso and neck were, the more favorable feedback they got.

Tricky moves involving the right knee and leg were also proven to be crowd pleasers.

What had no bearing on results either way were what the arms were doing.

According to one of the researchers, the toughest part of the study was finding guys willing to dance.
