Macedonian television 16th July 2013 Megjashi:The rights of 195 children have been broken
One of the basic findings is that children are the most unprotected where they should be the most protected (home, school, other institutions responsible for providing uninterrupted exercise of the children's rights).
"There were 105 calls on the SOS phone line for children and young during the first half of 2013 with which we later on communicated 481 times. The purpose of the additional communication is to inform the callers on the measures we undertake, the responses of the relevant institutions as well as their reports to us regarding all the changes that have occurred about the reported case.", it is said in the statement to the First Children's Embassy in the World Megjashi.
It is explained that the total number of registered callers in the first half of 2013 is 105. Only 4 children had the courage to report violence or violation of some their right.
From Megjashi say that on the basis of the information which they have obtained with respect to a possible violation of the children's rights and which are structured according to the number of children included in these cases, it is about a total number of 195 children in which there have been suspicions regarding possible violation of some their right.
The most specific data that can be pointed out referring to the children included in the reported cases with respect to possible violations of their rights registered in the Children's Embassy are:
• Suspicion of political abuse of children -- 40 children of the total number of children -- potential victims of possible political abuse
• Poverty -- 38 children of the total number of children -- potential victims, living on the edge of existence, in substandard conditions
• Domestic violence -- 32 children of the total number of children -- potential victims, they were unprotected and exposed to violence with their family
• Divorce proceedings -- 19 children of the total number of children -- potential victims of violation of the children's rights in divorce proceedings.
• Peer violence -- 13 children of the total number of registered cases are potential victims of physical or psychological violence by their peers.
• Suspicion of sexual abuse -- 3 children were victims of sexual abuse or there has been a suspicion of sexual abuse by someone close or known to the child-victim.
