Activists in Egypt have released video footage that they say shows the mistreatment of young men and women in custody.
They are among 50 youths accused of taking part in protests against the country's military-backed government.
Some have been transferred from a juvenile prison in Alexandria to Tora prison in Cairo
Those still held in Alexandria are between the ages of 12 and 15 and have been staging a hunger strike to protest the transfers.
Their families accuse prison authorities of beating the youth and restricting access to them.
Al Jazeera's Nadim Baba reports.
