The reason I've been so reluctant to do this movie for so long is due entirely to how grating Adriana Caselotti's voice is to my poor, poor ears. I give full props to the times, and I of course do not wish to slander one of the greatest classics of the century, but some of those notes she hits are almost painful to listen to. Modern voice acting has ruined me forever, hasn't it?
Anyway, this song in particular is all the evidence one could ever want for why Fluttershy is best Snow White. As shown, this particular song has been directly referenced in the show multiple times, making this one of the easiest PMVs I've ever put together. As soon as I saw that opening to Filli Vanilli, I thought "There's the entire With a Smile and a Song, right there. I almost don't even have to do anything to it!".
I do not own My Little Pony or Disney, but I do have you in my sights, Doc Holliday! Why don't the two of us just saddle on outside, an' we can find out who's the quickest draw in the West once an' for all, eh?
