Zookeepers at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo finally got a glimpse of the newborn Goodfellow’s tree kangaroo on Thursday after nine months of waiting.

The Goodfellow’s tree kangaroo, an endangered species native to Papua New Guinea, has the longest pregnancy term of any marsupial – 45 days. This newborn is the first of its species to be born at the zoo in more than 20 years.
