Thieves will often strike at the most unanticipated moment. Recently, police in Petaluma, California released a surveillance image of a male who swiped money from a McDonald’s restaurant.

The theft was anything but routine. It was brazen and very quick. The man stayed in his vehicle for the duration of the crime and didn’t interact with anyone. He allegedly cruised up to the drive through window and opened it up.

The man then slid his arm through the window, accessed the cash register and pocketed about $200. He was able to get away from the scene unscathed.

At the time of the crime, staffers were busy cleaning other areas of the restaurant. The theft occurred around 2 in the morning on a recent Monday.

The male has dark hair and was wearing a flannel shirt when the money was stolen. Petaluma police are hoping the distribution of the surveillance photo will lead to tips and help them locate the suspect.
