The Union of South American nations has called for an end to the unrest in Venezuela.

According to government figures, at least 19 people have been killed.

So far, most of the trouble has been in middle class neighbourhoods. But Venezuela's poor still support the government.

For them, Presidents Chavez and Maduro are continuing the movement started by Simon Bolivar in the 19th century against foreign occupation.

Al Jazeera's Andy Gallacher reports from Caracas.
