Sweden moves to curb suicide rates

Sweden has launched a new campaign in an attempt to prevent people from killing themselves.

Some 350 ambassadors aim to teach Swedes the ability to spot mental health issues among friends, colleagues and neighbours.

The suicide rate in Sweden has dropped steadily in all age groups, but the rate for young people has remained flat.

For decades, the country had one of the world’s highest suicide rates.
