Italian Navy Rescues 1,100 African Migrants From Rafts

Italy’s navy rescued about 1100 African migrants who were traveling to Sicily in inflatable boats. The migrants, all originating from sub-Saharan Africa, were spotted by navy helicopters and pulled out of nine unwieldy rafts and onto a ship to continue their journey.
