Excitement in Sochi ahead of opening ceremony

In just a few hours, a lavish opening ceremony is expected to officially launch the most expensive Olympic games ever.
 
The build-up has been overshadowed by security fears, preparation concerns and political controversy.
 
But, as Al Jazeera's Paul Brennan reports, there is much excitement and pride amongst ordinary Russians.
