It's taken three years of bloodshed to get to this point.

But on Saturday, Syria's government and opposition finally sat down together in Geneva.

Their mediator, UN-Arab League envoy Lakhdar Brahimi, says progress has been slow, but they could strike a deal to get aid into the besieged city of Homs.
