A woman recently passed away after falling 50 feet to her death, while visiting San Diego’s Sunset Cliffs. 25-year-old Anna Bachman had traveled from Chicago and was posing for a photo prior to the sudden fall.

Tragically, there were several witnesses to her death, one of whom was the woman’s own sister. She had reportedly been in California to visit with her sibling.

Two nurses were also present during the incident. They ran down the cliffs and frantically performed CPR but, sadly it was too late. The woman could not be revived.

Local streets were temporarily shut down while rescue crews worked to retrieve the woman’s body. Law enforcement does not believe any alcohol was involved. Although the investigation is ongoing, they are currently ruling it as an accident.

San Diego Police have asked both residents and tourists to use extreme caution when visiting the cliffs due to slippery conditions, and others have cited potential erosion on the overhangs.
