Virgin Galactic Takes Its Third Powered Flight Supersonic To 71,000 Feet

Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo took it’s third flight breaking the sound barrier, reaching mach 1.4 and hitting its highest altitude yet. At 71,000 ft (~13.5 miles) SpaceShipTwo flew for about 10 minutes until it glided back to earth. No official date has been announced for its first commercial flight.
