As if running 310 miles isn’t accomplishment enough, a woman in New Zealand went the distance without even a brief moment of sleep.

As if running 310 miles isn’t accomplishment enough, a woman in New Zealand went the distance without even a brief moment of sleep.

Kim Allan had attempted the world-record breaking feat last year, but withdrew at about the 230 mile mark.

This time around, with blisters on her feet and swelling around her ankles, her 4-day efforts culminated in success.

According to her team she now holds the record for distance covered without sleeping.

Also impressive is that she awoke the morning after at 6 am.

Allan spent the day following her remarkable achievement with her feet up when she wasn’t fielding press inquiries.

She told reporters that she was a bit sore, but overall the pain wasn’t so bad.

The run was undertaken not simply for personal glory. In the process of setting a world record, Allan raised in the neighborhood of 6 thousand dollars for the New Zealand Spinal Trust.

While she emerged for the most part unharmed, the same couldn't be said about her Christmas shopping completion.

Preparing for the feat took pretty much all of her time, so this year, her Christmas celebrations had to wait.
