A Thailand vacation ended in tragedy on Sunday.

That's when this bus carrying mainly Russian tourists lost control and crashed, killing two people and injuring 26 others.

It happened on the resort island of Phuket near a beach that's a notorious accident hotspot.

The brakes on the bus reportedly failed as it descended a steep hill.

It then ploughed into several vehicles before crashing into a power pole.

The male driver was crushed to death and a female tour guide traveling on the bus also died.

Both were Thai.

Thirteen Russian tourists were among the injured.

The coach had just picked up around 30 passengers from the local airport.

They were on their way to their hotels in the popular beach resort.
