2013 Top 5 Bollywood Sequels

The year 2013 marks the completion of 100 years of Indian Cinema. This year saw many sequels that did exceptionally well at the Box-Office. Some of the sequels that were released this year are - Dhoom 3, Krrish 3, Murder 3, Race 2, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai 2, Aashiqui 2, Shootout at Wadala, Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns, Grand Masti, Satya 2 and Yamla Pagla Deewana 2.
Let us look at the top five sequels of the year...
Race 2
Directed by Abbas-Mustan, Race 2 was the sequel to the edge-of-the-seat thriller Race that saw Saif Ali Khan paired with Deepika Padukone. The movie also starred the John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor and Ameesha Patel. Race 2 opened to mixed reviews from critics, but got highly positive response at the Box Office.
Aashiqui 2
Aashiqui 2 is the sequel of 1990 musical blockbuster Aashiqui and saw Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles. It was a sweet, romantic film that centered on the turbulent relationship between two musicians. Despite having newcomers, the film was a blockbuster hit. The credit goes to its storyline and chartbuster songs.
Grand Masti
Being tagged as highly adult comedy content movie, Grand Masti was appreciated by the masses and also entered in the coveted 100 crore club. Starring the original lead of the 2004 film Masti, actors Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani and Riteish Deshmukh were seen with Bruna Abdullah, Karishma Tanna, Sonalee Kulkarni, Kainaat Arora, Maryam Zakaria and Manjari Fadnis. The film was declared a Super Hit in India by Box Office India
Krrish 3
One of the most awaited sequels of the year, Krrish 3 apparently broke all Box-Office records. This superhero science fiction film featured Hrithik Roshan, Vivek Oberoi, Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles. The film was appreciated for its special effects and power-packed performances by lead actors. It was declared a blockbuster hit at the Box-Office.
Dhoom 3
Dhoom 3 created quite a buzz in the industry. The third installment of the popular Dhoom series, will featured Aamir Khan in a hardcore negative role for the first time. While Abhishek and Uday reprised their roles as Jai and Ali, Aamir and Katrina formed the antagonist duo. An edge-of-the-seat thriller, Dhoom 3 broke all the records on its opening day, and is touted to be as one of the most expensive Indian films of all time.
