The two had known one another for a couple of months before the incident. The day the bullet – and romance – struck they were hanging out at his mother’s Georgia home just chatting.
Webb spotted some deer and decided to go hunting.
Not long after, Mayo though she heard him calling for her, asking for a knife, so she went to give one to him.
The thing is, he hadn’t so when he heard noise coming from the bushes he naturally thought it was a wild animal and shot at it.
His bullet connected with the target, but unfortunately that ended up being Mayo.
She fell to the ground, bleeding and screaming.
He ran to her and tried to wrap the bullet wound.
Mayo is recovering, but suffered nerve damage and is in excruciating pain. Webb has moved in to help with her care.
Neither she nor her family is upset with Webb, but the authorities feel differently. Webb may face numerous criminal charges in connection with the shooting.
