Sheriff's deputies in US state face charges

In California, eighteen officers from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are facing a range of criminal charges.

An FBI investigation into corruption and abuse of inmates led to their arrest.

Federal officials say the men saw themselves as being "above the law."
