One man in Brooklyn is baffled after finding a beautiful, shiny Emmy award in a garbage bin.

In the television industry, winning an Emmy is the ultimate reward.

One place you would never expect to see it is in the trash.

That’s why a man in Brooklyn is baffled after finding a beautiful, shiny Emmy award in a garbage bin. The male, Ismael Cekic pulled it from the confines of the trash and he’s now holding onto it in hopes of finding the owner.

As a strange twist to the story, Cekic, who is nicknamed Smiley, is an actor and singer, known in the New York City area. Smiley found the emmy after returning home from a Woodstock studio where he recorded some music singles.

During the walk, he spotted a receptacle stock piled with various trophies. Comprised of mostly sports memorabilia, underneath the heap was the standout Emmy.

It immediately caught his eye so Smiley brought it home. He is now planning on toting the believed to be 1950s era Emmy to a screening of one of his films, in the hopes of meeting the original owner and handing it over.

The discovery has also fueled Smiley’s dream of winning his own Emmy in the future .
