Con Colbert: This major historical documentary series looks at the lives of the other 7 men executed in Kilmainham gaol in the aftermath of the 1916 Easter Rising.
Con Colbert was born in Limerick on October 18th, 1888 and was executed in the aftermath of the 1916 Easter Rising in Kilmainham Gaol. He was a major player in Na Fianna Eireann and was also a member of both the Irish Volunteers and Irish Republican Brotherhood. During the Rising Colbert was commander of the F Company 4th Battalion and was in command at the Marrowbone Lane distillery when it surrendered on Sunday, April 30, 1916. His execution took place on May 8, 1916, age 23.
