School evacuations or lock downs are always terrifying for students as well as parents. Thankfully, many incidents are false alarms.

Recently, the Medgar Evers College Preparatory School located in Brooklyn attracted emergency workers after a certain scent invaded the middle and high school facility. It was initially believed the smell circulating throughout the rooms was hazardous.

Eight children were transported to the nearest hospital by ambulance while two others were taken to their own physicians by their parents for an examination.

After workers investigated the cause of all the turmoil, it was revealed that someone had sprayed Axe cologne in a sixth grade classroom. The scent had reportedly made some of the students sick.

According to authorities at the school, the child who sprayed the cologne will face some kind of punishment although it was not revealed what type of disciplinary action would be taken.

Despite the hospitalizations and utter panic caused by too much of the spray, no one was seriously injured. This isn’t the first time the spray has been a problem.

Earlier this year a school in Pennsylvania was forced to ban Axe cologne after a student was rushed to the hospital from the pungent scent.
