During a recent trip to the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas 14-year-old Tana Clymer of Oklahoma City had a particularly good time.

The girl found a canary diamond that weighs in at 3.85-carats and is believed to be valued in the thousands.

Lucky for her, the park’s policy is whoever finds it, can keep it.

Gems are the main attraction at the park and visitors are invited to dig around and whatever they unearth is theirs.

Diamonds are a fairly common find but few of that size have been claimed. However, just months ago a boy claimed a 5-carat beauty.

That was the news that inspired the family to finally take the trip after years of tossing the idea around.

While foraging for stones, Tana said she saw a shiny yellow object in the corner of her eye and at first thought it was a candy wrapper.

After touching it, she guessed it was a marble, but after holding it she knew it was the real deal.

She said that she plans to turn it into a ring. If it ends up being worth serious dollars, she’ll put it away to help pay for college.
