From album Xhol Caravan "Essen 1970" Live

First there was a soul band 'Soul Caravan'. This band released one album in 1967 'Get In High '. The following year saw the release of a second album 'Electrip . Changes in personnel the band dropped the 'Soul ' .Now known 'Xhol Caravan' .... A new musical direction improvised jazz fused with psychedelia 'Caravan' was dropped . Only 'Xhol ' remained ...Essen 1970 - live recording from a three day pop and blues event. Held indoors - Sports Arena , Gougahalle Germany . Live 'Xhol' liked to improvise . 'Sparkling Geysers ' has a loose arrangement . Thankfully the band never enter the realm of self indulgence . Excellent opening track . ''A'' Freak -Out Blues ' . A late 60's early 70's Blues workout . 'Weird Bossa' is freak out acid Jazz . 'Surrealistic Scenery ' has a driving rhythm , due in part to an uneven rhythmic Organ pattern . The addition of Flute give's the track a pastoral smoky late night feel .

Tim Belbe - sax, flute
Öcki Brevern - organ
Klaus Briest - bass
Skip van Wyck - drums
