After a fire destroys one of their museum's storehouses, Director Harold Grove and his assistant Arthur Pimm find everything in ruins. Everything, that is, save for one peculiar statue which somehow survived the blaze unharmed. Then, having been sent to fetch a flashlight, Pimm returns to the site to find Grove lying dead. Curiouser and curiouser! Soon, however, our enterprising Mr. Pimm discovers the secret of that arcane antiquity, and sets about using it for his own purposes...
