Globesity is a term that has been coined to explain the growing obesity epidemic happening all over the planet. People around the world are reportedly becoming more obese with the rise of fast food restaurants and unhealthy food choices in countries from Mexico to Qatar in the Middle East where 45 percent of adults and 40 percent of children are reportedly obese.

In the United States, over 31 percent of the adult population is clinically obese, according to statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
With obesity effecting over 32 percent of the adult population, Mexico now has a largest percentage of obese people compared to any country with a population over 100 million.
According to a report from Foreign Policy, Mexico’s “sharp spike in obesity and soda consumption correlates with the 1994 passage of the North American Free Trade Agreement, which opened Mexico to a flood of cheap junk food and soda pop. After the agreement took effect, there was a more than 12 hundred percent increase in high-fructose corn syrup exports from the United States to Mexico between 1996 and 2012.”
