Obama pledges transparency over spy programme

US President Barack Obama has promised more oversight and transparency over surveillance of emails and phone calls. He was trying to reassure the public in the wake of the revelations by the whistle-blower Edward Snowden. Al Jazeera's Patty Culhane reports from Washington D.C.
