Even before the Snowden case, relations between Russia and the United States were going through a difficult phase, to say the least. But the case of the 30-year-old former intelligence agent has led to such mistrust between the two nuclear powers that some analysts say it is pointless to try to rebuild a strategic partnership at this time.
