K-pop icon Rain completes military service

If he hadn't done it all before, he almost certainly has now.

South Korean singing sensation Rain has just completed his 21-month army conscription.

After joining in October 2011, he spent nearly two years as an "entertainment soldier", promoting the military through TV and radio programmes.

The enduringly popular K-pop star can add that to previous credits as an actor, songwriter, dancer, model, producer and designer.

He told the hundreds of fans at his release he was looking forward to the future.

Military service is compulsory in South Korea.

The 31-year-old, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, is reported to have recently signed a deal with Cube entertainment.
