An unidentified woman in Fort Wayne, Indiana stumbled upon two live hand grenades in her own home. She had been going through some things and opened up a bag which belonged to her ex-husband.

An Indiana woman recently got quite a shock when she stumbled upon two live hand grenades in her house.

She had been going through some things and opened up a bag which belonged to her ex-husband. That’s where she found the explosives.

The terrified woman immediately called police. Officers arrived along with a bomb squad technician.

It was determined that the grenades were live and authorities confiscated them. According to the female, the grenades did not belong to her and she pointed out that they were found in her ex-husband's belongings.

Investigators were not immediately able to speak with him, as he does not live at the residence. Although no arrests have yet been made in the case, it is against federal law for civilians to be in possession of hand grenades.

The small-sized weapon is considered to be one of the oldest weapons in the world - the first reportedly being used by the soldiers in the Byzantine Empire.
