Russia: Bolshoi ballet director left nearly blind by...

The artistic director of Russia's Bolshoi ballet Sergei Filin is almost blind following an acid attack, despite 18 operations to save his sight.

At a news conference on June 20, Bolshoi spokeswoman Katerina Novikova said Filin could barely see out of either eye.

It has been alleged that the assault was masterminded by a rival dancer.

Filin has vowed to return to the Bolshoi.
