The Cutie Mark Crusaders attempt to create a relationship between their schoolteacher Cheerilee and Apple Bloom's older brother Big Macintosh, for Hearts and Hooves Day (the Equestrian equivalent of Valentine's Day) with a love potion. However, too late they discover the recipe is for a love poison, making the two unable to do anything else beyond thinking about the other. The Crusaders barely manage to keep the two out of eyesight of each other for an hour, breaking the spell. They apologize to Cheerilee and Big Macintosh, and as punishment, take up Big Macintosh's chores for a week.
