Wildfires burn in Colorado

Wildfires rage in Colorado.

The fires burned as many as 100 homes just outside of the state's second largest city Colorado Springs.

The blaze, first ignited Tuesday and quickly ripped through Colorado's Black Forest.

Evacuation notices went out to about 2,600 homes housing 7,300 people.

Authorities are doing what they can to contain the blaze as people try to cope with what has been lost.

"You work your whole life to have your own little place on this globe.. you find this place that's special to..and then its gone."

(SOUNDBITE) (English) EVACUEE, JAENETTE COYNE, SAYING:

"We have a 20-month old...and this morning she asked to go home... (crying)...things like that are really hard."

As the flames spread near Colorado Springs, a separate fire prompted the evacuation of the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, a major tourist attraction in the state.

The bridge itself was not threatene
