Woman Mistakenly Given Oven Cleaner At Restaurant for Hiccups

A female customer at a restaurant accepted a glass of vinegar from workers to cure her hiccups. When she began choking, the staff realized they had accidentally given her oven cleaner.

You know what they say – “no good deed goes unpunished”. Well workers at an eatery in Australia attempted to do something nice, but the act completely backfired.

A woman dining at The Point restaurant at Paradise Point in Australia had finished her meal, but developed a bad case of the hiccups. Employees tried to help and offered the lady a glass of vinegar as a cure to the annoying, uncontrollable problem.

The woman agreed and swallowed the clear liquid. Immediately she began choking.

That’s when restaurant workers realized their terrible mistake. Oven cleaner had been given to the female customer rather than vinegar.

It is believed the cleaner had been placed next to the vinegar and unfortunately the wrong fluid was picked up in error. Emergency crews arrived at the eatery and transported the lady to the hospital where she was said to be in intensive care.

The restaurant owner stated “It was an accident but we accept full responsibility. We will do everything and anything to assist her family.”
