An Austrian bank employee drops $117,000 into a river. He was fired following the incident.

Working at a bank is no easy job.

It carries a great deal of responsibility.

An Austrian bank worker landed in some trouble after he dropped bags containing approximately $120,000 into a river. On May 7th, the male employee was reportedly transporting cash from one location to the main headquarters.

He was using his own vehicle for the delivery. According to the man, he encountered a flat tire on the journey.

He pulled over and removed the bags of money out from the trunk so he could fix the car. The worker reportedly placed the sacks on a slope.

Well, the cash fell from the steep hill into the river waters below. Rescue crews along with police and fire authorities scoured the area but they were only able to retrieve a small amount of the money.

No witnesses could be located to verify the bank employee’s story, but criminal charges have not been filed. However, the male has been fired from his position for not following protocol.
