Children who survived Oklahoma's deadly tornado sing at a memorial service commemorating victims on Sunday.

Twenty-four people were killed and more than 370 others were injured as the wind tunnel ripped through the suburb of Moore on May 20th.

A first grade teacher recounts the harrowing moments before the twister hit her school.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) FIRST GRADE TEACHER WAYNEL MAYES SAYING:

"I turned around and looked at my room and I didn't know quite what to do but I knew that I had to do something more than I had ever practiced before. I told the students I needed their help to move the desks to the wall. And the children asked why and I said we're going to play a game."

Around 13,000 homes were also destroyed.

The tornado was the worst to hit the United States in two years.
