Manga is a style of Japanese comic books and graphic novels that originated in the late 19th century. It is characterized by its distinctive art style, which often features exaggerated facial expressions, large eyes, and dynamic action scenes. Manga covers a wide range of genres, including romance, action, adventure, science fiction, horror, and comedy, and is popular both in Japan and around the world.

Manga is usually read from right to left, as opposed to the left-to-right reading direction of Western comics, and is serialized in magazines before being collected into tankōbon volumes. Manga artists, known as mangaka, often have a high degree of creative control over their work and are responsible for both the story and the artwork. Some of the most famous manga series include Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, and Attack on Titan.
