In the opinion of the Sumerian cuneiform scholar Zecharia Sitchin, some 'hybrids' or demigods (ie. Akkad’s Gilgamesh--part man, part god) survived the floods, and were called ‘Nephilim,’ giant supermen mentioned in the Bible. These Supermen dominate early historical records in human cultures, and were, according to Sitchin, the ‘men of renown’ who became kings and rulers of many lands.
