Scrying is a very useful practice but you must have protection. I do hope that this Kate had protection while she was practicing scrying. Especially when the old man revealed himself to her. He's not a pleasant spirit and I think he is who terrorized Jack as a child. I feel like he is no longer there, though. Like I said, I think they must have had the estate blessed or something.
Jack is very intuitive; in a paranormal sense. I don't know if he's aware of this but this is why all of these spirits and energy are attracted to him. It's not just his imagination that he picks up on things anywhere and everywhere he goes. He has an ability that hopefully he develops fuller.
I also am a skeptic but I DO believe in the paranormal. Welder's House is such a lovely estate and I can totally understand why Sharon and Ozzy wanted to come back here. Not to mention I'm sure they have wonderful memories of raising the kids.
I don't feel like this place had one nefarious spirit/entity but rather just negative energy from the cumulation of dark things that have happened over the years. I don't know if Jack had the place blessed but I no longer feel dark energy is there.
