Alexander Cimini
Was born in Bielefeld, Germany, the 11/07/75. Begins very young his piano studies , winning several awards. Since the age of 15 he starts experimenting with video. That is the beginning of his passion for filmmaking. Within his most significant works we can mention BROTHERS (1997) that won the best contemporary film in the Giovanni Icardi Film Festival, THE LEADING GIRL (2001) best film in the Giovanni Valdarno Film Festival, MIMESIS (2002) best Italian film in the European Massimo Troisi Film Festival, and best long film in the Pescara’s Alternative Film Festival , RIFLESSI (CineScuola 2003), best Italian Movie in the Massimo Troisi Film Festival, CINQUE GIORNI (2003), E S (2004/06), AISBERG (CineScuola 2008) best editing award in the Giovanni Valdarno cinema Fedic, best original soundtrack and best social subject at the Careas Film festival ( Bergamo) and M.A.R.C.O. (2010). From 2004 to 2006 Cimini works for MPR-comunicazione integrata as the director of two spots: “la dolce vita-più cinema alla tua vita” winner of the AGORA’ 2005 award and during the same year the S.I.A.E. spot “La pirateria cancella il mondo che ami” , officially presented September the 5th, 2007 during the Venice film Festival. From 2003, Cimini composes the original score of all his movies and two theatre plays: "Tre bambole di pezza" by Stefano Naldi e "Che fine ha fatto Baby Jane” directed by Massimiliano Bolcioni. During his 10 years of active work, he won several awards for directing, editing and composing. Cimini created in 2003 the Cinema course "CineScuola" is addressed to local High school students. Through group dynamics, improvisation, a constructive confrontation with the adult’s world and a keen search for real stories has the intent to introduce young generations to the independent film production ain a creative and constructive way.
